Meet Helen (on the right in the picture above), our wonderful new handmade chocolate producer, showcasing her Easter offerings at Louisa’s Place recently.
Helen’s passion for making chocolate followed a lovely girly afternoon one Christmas, making chocolate snowmen and handbags under the supervision of her very patient chocolate master neighbour!
She decided to take the experience a little further, undertaking a number of courses at the renowned Callebaut Chocolate Academy and has now started to create a selection of bespoke artisan chocolates from home. All of her products are handmade, using the finest Belgian Callebaut Chocolate, which is made from sustainably grown cocoa and used by master chocolate makers and pastry chefs the world over. Each item is handcrafted and consequently no two are the same.
At the moment Helen uses plain chocolate that has 54.5% cocoa solids, milk chocolate that has 33.6% and white chocolate that has 28%. She also has a range of different coloured and flavoured chocolate including strawberry, orange, lemon, honey & caramel. The chocolate can be finished with edible coloured cocoa butters and lustre dusts. These are used to coat the moulds, creating different patterns and effects. Helen can source many different mould shapes and designs to suit most requirements.
Chocolate is also an excellent choice for wedding favours. Delicious milk chocolate, white, dark or a combination. Small or large hearts, flowers, rugby balls, cricket bats, just a few ideas!
